SIKOPAIMEN
(translation below)
Sikopaimen tuttu on, harppoo taivaltansa
Kursittu on töppösensä, reppu olallansa
sikopaimen pensaikossa…siku siku sika sika!
kuule, kuule, tyttö kuule, kuuletkos sä siellä?
soitan sulle huilullani yhden biisin vielä
kuulen, kuulen, kyllä kuulen sinut musta/hölmö paimen
tuuli tuo jo sävelesi mökin akkunalle
En voi tulla, luokses tulla, vaikka haluaisinkin
vaikka sulla, vaikka mulla hiukset hulmuaiskin
Isä katsoo, äiti neuvoo, veljet aina vahtii,
isoisä nurkassaankin polkee samaa tahtii
Isä katsoo, äiti neuvoo, veljet aina vahtii,
sikopaimen mäen päällä soittaa eri tahtiin!
Koirat haukkuu väärää kuuta, porsaat hiljaa röhkii,
sikopaimen viime kerran nuotiota töhkii
aamu koittaa, kellot soittaa, kylä kohta herää
sikopaimen verkalleen jo porsaitansa/laumaansa kerää
1, 2, 3, 4…
Sikopaimen kumma on, harppoo taivaltansa
kursittu on töppösensä, laulaa kulkeissansa
sen jos kuulet, kohta luulet, että korvas kohta suljet
sen kuulla saa vain porsaan, karjun ja emakon luppakorvat!
"The Swineherd"
"You know the swineherd. He strides along the road in his felt slippers and a knapsack on his back. The swine loves the mud and the swineherd has fun with a girl under the bush. He plays his flute charmingly on the hill. Be ware, my little girl! The swineherd may take you God knows where. Oh no, he will not take me. I just catch one pig. Then I will run away… Can you hear me my girl? I am playing for you. Yes I can hear you, but I cannot come for my father, mother and brothers are watching. The swineherd leaves in the morning. If you hear his song, you will close your ears. His song is only for the floppy ears of the pigs, the boar and the sow.”
